1960 Mercedes-Benz O 319

The Mercedes-Benz O 319 was built in small numbers as a panoramic touring coach, the kind of vehicle that was never designed to be common. This one came to us in rough shape: faded and oxidized paint, surface rust in a handful of places, and decades of wear that had worked their way into every panel. The brief was full restoration with a custom color.

Body work started with a thorough inspection of every seam and surface. Rust was cut out and patched, panel work brought back to straight, and the whole exterior taken down to bare metal in prep for paint. A vehicle this shape – the curved greenhouse, the long flat sides, the radius corners – demands patience at every masking line. There are no shortcuts on a bus.

Custom color mixed in-house, three coats of base, two of clear, bake-cured and hand-polished. The result is a vehicle that looks exactly like what it is: something rare, done right.
