Last updated: May 27, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Autometric Body and Paint website at www.autometricbody.com and any services you receive from us as a result of contacting us through this site. By using the site or requesting an estimate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

2. About our services

Autometric Body and Paint(“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a family-owned auto body shop located at 490 S. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac, MI 48341. We provide collision repair, custom paint and refinishing, restoration, and paintless dent repair coordination. Specific scope of work for any project is described in the written estimate we provide for that project.

3. Estimates

Estimates are free, non-binding, and informational. An estimate represents our best assessment of the work and cost required based on the photos or in-person inspection at the time it’s prepared. Actual repair costs may differ once we’ve disassembled the vehicle and inspected for hidden damage. We will notify you and obtain your authorization before proceeding with any work that materially exceeds the estimate.

4. Authorization to perform work

We perform repairs only after you (or your authorized representative) sign a written work authorization. By signing, you confirm that you own the vehicle or are authorized to approve repairs to it, and you authorize us to perform the work described in the estimate.

5. Pricing and payment

  • Direct billing with insurance. When repairs are covered by an insurance claim, we bill your carrier directly for the approved scope of work. You remain responsible for your deductible and any amount not covered by the carrier.
  • Out-of-pocket repairs. Payment is due upon completion unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash, credit cards, and approved payment methods.
  • Storage fees. Vehicles not picked up within three business days of completion may be subject to reasonable storage fees, charged at our then-current daily rate.
  • Liens. We reserve a statutory mechanic’s lien on any vehicle for unpaid charges in accordance with Michigan law.

6. Customer responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the vehicle, the damage, and any prior repairs.
  • Remove personal belongings from the vehicle before drop-off. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle.
  • Disclose any aftermarket parts, modifications, or pre-existing conditions that could affect the repair.
  • Coordinate with your insurance carrier as needed, and provide claim numbers, adjuster contact info, and authorization where required.

7. Warranty

We offer a lifetime workmanship warranty on the workmanship of any repair we perform. This means that for as long as you own the vehicle, we will correct, at no charge, any defect in our workmanship, for example, paint adhesion failure, panel alignment drift, or refinish defects.

The warranty does not cover:

  • New damage (collision, vandalism, environmental damage, normal wear, etc.) that occurs after we deliver the vehicle
  • Repairs performed by anyone other than us after we delivered the vehicle
  • Failure of parts we did not install, or parts you supplied
  • Issues arising from neglect, accident, abuse, or improper maintenance

The warranty is transferable to a subsequent owner one time, on request, with proof of repair documentation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Michigan law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the services we provide or your use of this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific repair giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of use, lost income, or alternate transportation costs), except where such liability cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Photographs of repaired vehicles

We may take photographs of repairs in progress and on completion for our own records and for inclusion in our portfolio, marketing materials, and website. License plates and identifying details will be obscured or cropped out. If you’d rather we not use photos of your vehicle publicly, tell us in writing before we begin work and we’ll honor that request.

10. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Website use

You agree not to misuse the website, for example by attempting to access areas you’re not authorized to use, interfering with security features, scraping content at volumes that affect site performance, or submitting false estimate requests.

12. Modifications to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged prominently on the site for a reasonable period. Continued use of the site or our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or to services we provide will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oakland County, Michigan, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
